This position will provide analyses, conduct studies, and perform atmospheric modeling simulations of criteria pollutants. Specifically, use LINUX-based photochemical and meteorological grid-based models (CMAQ) to study atmospheric chemical reactions and identify the controlling chemical species needed to develop effective control strategies. The incumbent must be able to communicate both orally and in writing the results of the modeling as well as the associated certainty to a non-technical public. The incumbent will function at a consultant level within the organization, providing the expertise in atmospheric chemistry needed to understand the formation of ozone, particulate matter, and other secondary air pollutants in a complex urban airshed.

BS or advanced degree in atmospheric sciences or chemistry. Experience in regional photochemical modeling (e.g., CMAQ) for air quality research or regulatory purposes. Research related to atmospheric chemistry (NOx, NH3, and VOCs) in polluted urban environments.
