The Apprentice Installer is an entry level position which provides physical labor to install voice, data, video and security cabling. This position is a non-exempt, full-time position which reports to upper level technicians and/or lead technicians as assigned.

This position is responsible for the assistance of pulling and placing cabling in buildings, underground tunnels, and aerial pole lines. This work may be performed in extreme temperature ranges from -30 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit including all weather conditions. Work may also be performed in confined spaces, on ladders scaffolding or man lifts. Position is also responsible for abiding by all Company Safety Policies and being safety conscious. Performing other work, special projects and work related training as assigned.

Must have oral and written skills and the ability to communicate with other workers, craftsman and trades. Must be able to read, understand and follow company policies and procedures. Position requires the ability to work with basic hand tools. Must have own hand tools. Knowledge of basic math is required. Requires ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to lift 80 pounds or more from floor to above head. Must be organized, self motivated and understand and implement time management skills. Requires ability to obtain a clear State of Utah Level II background check. Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.

This position requires a valid Utah Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
